Meet Your Seoulmate this Valentines in Downtown Fullerton

Orange County foodies are flocking to Downtown Fullerton this week for the long anticipated opening of Seoulmate, a Korean fusion joint specializing in Mexi-style burritos. Having opened their first shack sized location in Long Beach three years ago, co-owners Jason Kang and Sean Butler’s Korean food with a Cali twist has become a local hit. These Cal State Fullerton alumni are now looking forward to building on what they have learned at their second location in DTF.

“The combination of shops, bars, nightlife and food are one of the reasons why Fullerton is just so amazing. We look forward to serving you our delicious food and continuing this Fullerton tradition.” – Jason Kang

Visitors have the option of choosing one of Seoulmate’s classic entrees or new menu items unique to their DTF location. If taking the classic route, go for a taste of The Old Boy: a burrito filled with sweet Bulgogi (marinated ribeye beef), kimchi, cilantro, diced onions and lettuce over white rice. Customize your order by adding an egg or avocado to create yourself a real treat! If you are in the mood for something new, grab a few pieces of their Downtown Fried Chicken and wash it down with a craft beer or Soju.

After you’ve met your match at Seoulmate, take a short walk over to Hapa Cupcakes and satisfy your sweet tooth. Hapa specializes in alcohol infused cupcakes and is sure to add a little sugary kick to your afternoon. A few of their signature cupcakes include chocolate whiskey, strawberries and champagne, and vanilla coconut rum cupcake. They also offer a delicious selection of non-alcoholic gourmet cupcakes, with my favorite being their chocolate peanut butter flavor. Yum!

Downtown Fullerton has an upcoming collection of restaurants to explore this New Year. Soon to open are Dripp, a coffee and dessert shop at the base of the historic FOX Theater, The Poke Co., custom poke bowls featuring a variety of fresh seafood, and Choux Crème, a dessert parlor specializing in ice cream made on demand using liquid nitrogen!
